Road Geogrids

Road grids—also known as geogrids—are essential for stabilizing subgrades and reinforcing base layers in road construction. Biaxial geogrids, such as Tensar BX geogrids provide strength in two perpendicular directions and are widely used for subgrade stabilization, especially over soft or moisture-sensitive soils. They improve load distribution and reduce rutting, making them a cost-effective solution for haul roads and unpaved surfaces. Triaxial geogrids, like Tensar’s TriAx®, feature a triangular aperture design that distributes loads radially, offering enhanced confinement and stiffness across multiple directions. This geometry improves aggregate interlock and reduces deformation under traffic loads, making them ideal for high-performance pavements and working platforms. The latest innovation, InterAx® geogrids, combines advanced material science with optimized geometry to deliver superior soil interaction and trafficking performance. Available in models like NX750 and NX850, InterAx® geogrids are engineered for demanding applications such as industrial yards, ports, and railbeds, where durability and long-term performance are critical. While all three types serve similar functions, their performance varies significantly, and product substitution without redesign can compromise structural integrity.
